Job Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year experience in security or a related field is required.
EDUCATION: Completion of high school is required. (Baccalaureate degree)
LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge of English and fluent Romanian – English proficiency will be tested;
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Must possess a valid B driver’s license.
- Availability to work in shifts (day shift + night shift)
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
Performs duties as a Guard to safeguard the Chief of Mission Residence, diplomatic residences, . Government facilities, and . Government personnel. Performs duties in a country where the crime rate and civil disturbances/political instability result in greater than normal danger and hazards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs screening procedures for all visitors entering US Government facilities. Guards must be able to maintain their composure while working under constant pressure. They must be able to practice good security procedures at all times even when inundated with large amounts of information or distractions.
He/she needs to be able to deal tactfully and persuasively with all visitors. Must be able to effectively communicate with visitors to determine their reason for wanting to enter the . Government facility and must have the ability to pass on situation reports in both English and Romanian as required. Must be able to perform static and walking foot patrols of an assigned area.
Performs duties as a Mobile patrol guard ensuring the security and safety of . Government facilities, the Chief of Mission Residence, and diplomatic residences.
Responds to emergencies within an assigned patrol area or in areas directed by the Regional Security Officer (RSO/ARSO), Shift Supervisor or Local Guard Force Supervisor.
Responds to incidences involving . Government personnel as directed. As appropriate, renders assistance until the arrival of the investigating or emergency authorities. Questions the guard of the previous shift as to any unusual occurrences or incidents that may have previously taken place. Conducts a radio check with the Local Guard Force Command Center every hour, or as needed, reporting the patrol’s location.
