EHS Manager

Currently, British American Shared Services Europe is recruiting an EHS Manager for a permanent role. The new colleague will join us in Bucharest office.

Role purpose

Ensures the best EHS practices of control the EHS risks in compliance with the BAT standards and policies and the local legal requirements in order to reduce to a minimum the risk of accidents.

Main responsibilities

• Plan the EHS training calendar and ensure implementation
• Maintain a safe environment for employees by establishing and enforcing security policies;
• Implement preventive measures and improved action plans;
• Continuous improvement in the activity from the site (5S, Safety Observation Tour, Gemba tours);
• Conduct safety training, practical exercises, emergency drills, first aid techniques, work instructions and fire protection measures according to corporate and local policies;
• Investigation of accidents, near misses, serious and imminent dangers, significant incident reports;
• Follow-up corrective actions and open points with due dates;
• Create the documentations and procedures according to national laws (H&S, Fire Protection & Environment);
• Organizes quarterly CSSM meetings with Local Labor Authority – ITM and occupational health doctor;
• Complete training sheets;
• Updating prevention and protection safety plan;
• Elaborate emergency plans;
• Plan and organizes emergency drills and practical exercises with fire extinguishers/hydrants;
• Maintain effective relationships with staff members, management, and authorized representatives.

• University degree ( technical area);
• Minimum 40 hours training on EHS domain
• Risk assessor course (will be provided by the company)
• Basic knowledge and availability to learn of the applicable legal requirements (H&S, Fire Protection, Environment, Security);
• Skills in discussing with local authorities, control bodies, internal and external audit
• The ability to understand the EHS issues and to set the priorities related to them.
• The ability to establish the long-term objectives, EHS systems development, EHS changes initiation in TMD
• Knowledge about TMD operations
